Interesting article... I'm glad that animal intelligence is becoming more widely recognized and documented. This study vaguely reminds me (maybe just because it was another african grey) of the one where they taught the parrot the names for several different kinds of fruit and gave him a taste of each one: Bananas, apples, grapes, and one other I can't remember off hand. Anyway. They purposefully didn't teach or let him try a pear. Then one day, they brought it out, let him try it, and asked him what it was. He called it a "banapple"... I guess because to him the taste was halfway between the two :lol
