:rotfl Jack is a very meticulous bather. He LOVES water.
Chino, on the other hand, has yet to take his first real bath. I think he's still a little shy, or too modest to bathe with me watching. >o
I have suspected that he has taken mini baths in his water bowl, but I'd never actually seen it.
I came home for lunch, as usual, today and sat near him while I ate my lunch. All of a sudden, he ran to his bowl and started to wash his head and face. Water went everywhere! Then he backed to the edge of the dish and dipped in his chest. Then he very precisely moved his feet to the front and expertly dipped his bum, and wiggled it! He did it twice!
I was laughing so hard as water was splashing everywhere.
He really wanted to take that bath, and must have gotten tired of trying to figure out how to get his body in that cup, that he covered the top of the cup with his body like a nest. That left his feet dangling down in the water, and he sat there, looking around and paddling away like a little green & yellow duck!:rotfl  :rotfl
The water dish is clear... if you all could have seen those tiny feet swimming around in there!!!:rotfl
I wish I'd have been able to stop laughing long enough to grab the video camera!

Jeni, so glad you got to see Chino take that bath! :D I also have a "shy" bather, my Oliver, and the few times that I catch him bathing always brings a smile to my face. :)

Actually, now that he's willing to bathe in front of me, I'm going to keep working on trying the sink or a baking dish, and then offer a SMALLER water dish, so it stays cleaner. Of course, if he refuses, I guess he'll keep his present dish.
These guys are so amazing! I'm so grateful to have them in my life

My Keiko is strange she wont bathe in the plate of water I give her and when I let the tap run she will drink from it but thats it...it only when I spinkle the water onto her from my hand that she loves it.I wish she would bathe like normal birdies.

Tutti HATES bathing. :( No dish does he like; no misting; not even a pat from a wet hand.
The other day, I cupped him in my hand and let the filtered water from the sink flow over his back. Now he is not talking to me. :(:(:(
He actually gave me the cold shoulder-- turned his shoulder to me and gave me a profile of his beak-- when I went to his cage shortly after. I couldn't believe it.

Bathtime is one of my favorite times to watch my birds - they just make me laugh. One of them loves to stand on the side of the dish with his tail in the water and slowly back in to the water...while my little girl loves to literally dive in head first. Water goes everywhere - it's so fun to watch.

Milo tends to do belly flops, whereas Melody is more dainty in the bath.
A few times a week, I offer them a clear salad bowl with tepid water in it, which has more room to stretch wings and splash than their water dish. Frequently, they'll get in there and bathe, but I'll always, always find them stuffing their feather butts in their water dish afterwards.
They also love to bathe in the fresh air. So on nice warm days, they go out on the screened porch, cage and all, with a bowl of water. The added benefit is that the water splashes on the concrete porch floor as opposed to the wood laminate in the living room. No clean up for the momma! ;)

Snubbed!!! Milo's been known to do that to me from time to time.
I've had to give Melody a good dunk bath after she'd been sitting on eggs for a while. The look of utter disgust, as if to say, "how could you DOOOOO this to me?!" just cracked me up. Poor thing.

All of my birds except Piper love to take a bath. The babies, Daise & Olivia take a bath on a dish. Molly takes a bath in my hands in the bathroom sink and Piper I have to run water over him, but only when he's a stinky bird.
