Is it dangerous for a lovebird to be exposed to a human being with chicken pox?

Not sure about Chicken Pox. I know that colds and such have no affect on birds. Maybe Linda can help you or if you have an avian vet in your area, you can call and discuss it with them. Good question.

Chicken Pox cannot be transferred between birds and humans. Chlamydia/Psittacosis and M. Avium, yes. Chicken Pox, no.

The only concern I'd have with a lovebird and a person with Chicken pox is that lovebirds love to pick at moles, birthmarks, small spots, etc.....
Obviously, you don't want the inflicted person to scratch those blisters, so having a lovebird around picking at them might not be advised either.

The blisters (very small, as he's had a vaccine) are on my 5 y.o. son's cest and back. But as for now, he's not allowed to hold Toots, let alone have im in his shirt, for a week. We're testing to see if it helps the feathering.
