Photographing Lovebirds

Here is a random thought:

There are many ways to photograph my lovebirds but to get a really decent shot with my camera I have found, I need to have the red eye flash on which comes on 2 or 3 times during the shot. I sure know that when I have my photograph taken with the red-eye on I am blinded for a bit and see white squares for a 1/2 hour :rofl:

If I go used red-eye, wouldn't the flash be hard on the lovies' eyes? I have tried other methods without the flash but they usually never sit still long enough for a macro shot!

I almost always use the flash. Unless the lighting is good in the house at the time...

Hi Tae! Thanks for replying...

I just have to comment on the last photo you posted. ALL of your lovies in that photo have what a few of us here have dubbed "FLOOFER CHEEKS" that is just so cute!

I have done so many shots of my two I think my boyfriend is jealous that I think they are better looking than him.

I was just discussing that on another board. I can not get any good pictures close up. They told me to try that. So, now I have to buy another camera..lol

I love those pictures! Specially in the covers. Closest mine get are in their huts. I can't handle any of mine. We have just now gotten to the point where they will land close on the couch. Up until the kids come and they are off again. LOL @ the floofer cheeks!

Photographing hyperactive lovies with Macro is nearly impossible :x

Usually macro settings on modern cameras are set without a flash for still lifes of flowers or cool bugs you find lol Those usually never are moving around all over the place, so the flash is not needed all the time (it might sometimes cause the white look to appear on the object(S) )

On your flight pics, I noticed that you can't really notice the tail much-----with Pip, when he flies, his tail fans all out and it's just beautiful! It's always the thing you notice when you flies----I'll have to try to catch a pic of this
