He still doesn't trust me, I'm not sure I'm doing things right.
I feed him millet out of my hand all the time, and sometimes while he's eating I try to touch him. I dropped the millet once and just my hand up by his perch, and he came and nibbled some of the hulls that had fallen on the perch, and I wiggled the toy that was right next to my hand and he started playing with it even though he had to have his body touching my hand to reach it <3
He's poked my fingers a few times, but he is still very wary. He is afraid of my finger going near him, and same with a dowel.

He was in my room for a while but there was hardly any sunshine that could reach him, my room has red carpets and a red couch, so I don't know if that made him angry? Also my cat gets upset when she cant sleep with me so I moved him into the other room with a big window and white walls/yellow carpet. = much brighter. but with him being in there I don't have him next to me as much, so I gotta go in there as often as I can. I don't talk to him as much as maybe I should, I am a naturally quiet person and find it hard to babble on for extended periods of time. I always try to talk back to him though, if he peeps or chirps I'll try to imitate him, sometimes I'll invent sounds... Are they more aware of noises than words? I read somewhere they will mimic sounds over words generally speaking..?

I called the pet store a few days ago, and they said he was 2 months when they got him and he'd been there almost 2 months, so he is about 4 months old. I bought him on October 31st, so it's been 3 weeks now.

oops, sorry I type so much, I'm just so excited about him, I have so much to say and ask!

Was Beezle held much when he was at the pet store? When I got Luna she was handtame, but she preferred to sit on my shoulder rather than be held in my hands. She still doesn't really like it when I touch her with my fingers. I have taught her to step up. The only way I knew to do it was to put my finger in front of her and push up gently on her stomache, saying "Step up". I did get bitten several times, but she doesn't bite hard so I just sucked it up and held my ground. I don't know how hard yours bites, but if you can bare it all you can do is be patient and work daily with him. Also I have read that many members read to their lovies so they can get used to their voices. I do this because I can't really babble on by myself either. I hope this helps, I am pretty unexperienced as I have only had Luna for about a month 1/2 maybe. She is also 4 mths old.

They say he was hand fed, but I doubt that he was handled much at the pet store. I worked there before and they hardly ever handle the birds.

How am I supposed to get him to step up or get him on my shoulder if he wont go anywhere near my finger/hand? He's only bitten me a couple times, today actually there was a pretty nice chomp, I think he was angry my hand was in the cage without the millet

I don't know, I am sorry, I don't really think there is an answer (not a quick one anyway). Have you tried covering your hand with something. I think I was very fortunate that Luna is naturally curious and though she may have been scared of me, her curiousity won over. I just reached in and grabbed her, when I pulled her out she jumped right up onto my shoulder and that is where she likes to be. I am not by any means suggesting you grab him, I really didn't know any better. I had done research on lovebirds, but never even thought about that until I did it.

Maybe someone with years behind them in lovebird care can give you some suggestions.

Sorry, I am not any help. :(

That's okay becky, thanks for trying to help me!
I also forgot to mention that he will only come out of his cage for a few moments, run around the outside of the bars, then go straight back in. I left the door open on accident last night and he's still safe and sound inside. does he have a little birdie complex or is he just not sure of the "out doors"?
