I've had my lovie for a little over a week now. She is only 8 weeks old. She keeps jumping onto my glasses. >: I need some advice or strategies to keep her from jumpin onto my glasses. I keep moving her from my shoulder and telling her no; but, she is one quick little bugger. So if you have any suggestions I would really welcome them.
Thanks!!

I have the same problem and she keeps biting them, even when I am wearing contact lenses she climbs all over my face, sits on my nose and tries to kiss my eyes.

Take your glasses off! Seriously, I don't think there is much more of a stubborn or determined than a lovebird and as much as you can keep trying to reinforce staying off them, your little one might just keep doing it. It's going to sound a bit crazy, but do you have an extra/old pair of glasses you can let he/she have for their own to sit on near you and play?

I have the same problem- I don't wear glasses, but I can't keep Jack off my head.
I've heard people say "Just don't allow them". I swear, I'm reaching up to take him off my head every minute. LOL

MJ took the words right out of my mouth! :D

I used to wear glasses and Oliver did like to hang and chew on them. I just stopped him every single time and he got the hint. I like MJ's idea about the spare pair.....that might do the trick. :)

Fenway LOVES to perch on the sides of my glasses and preen my eyebrows!

If this is any consolation, my lovie bites my ear. I have been pushing her away and telling her no bites. It has been about 2 wks now and she is just starting to get the hint. She does it much less now. I think it is just a matter of being consistent and patient. Or you could take your glasses off :D.

Good point, Becky! :) It can take weeks and weeks to change a certain behavior. It took me months to get the point across to Big Boi that i don't like him biting "things" on my arms and sometimes he still forgets.....I got three little bites on Sunday and every single one bled. He was picking at an existing little something, freckle, mole or previous scab, and when I looked down at my arm, all three places were bleeding. You'd think I would have realized what he was doing while he was doing it instead of after the fact! Sometimes you just get numb to the feel of three birds when they're constantly crawling all over you!

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes I keep my contacts in but other times I don't. By the time I'm done with work my contacts are really bothering me and I have to take them out. As for taking the glasses off, it would be okay if I COULD SEE. LOL I can't see the tv is I take them off. I'll have to look for a old pair of glasses-I think I have a pair. I'm trying to give her something else to play with instead of my face.
beckyg - she also nibbles on my ear. I'm trying to break her of that too.
Again thanks

I have found that once a lovie likes something----it's very hard to keep them away from it! Such determined little things! AND they don't forget! not like a child where you can try to offer something else to distract---Noo! they remember! At least Pip does! He doesn't give up! I finally found some "pip proof" cuttlebone holders for my tiels cage----I swear though I must have had to pick them up off the bottom the of the cage and hang them back up a hundred times because he likes to knock them off! He still gets their food dishes sometimes and another holder I have for their millet---yeah he knocked that one off today! stinkers!

I just bought a birdie necklace from Petsmart the other day so that Peanut would have something other than my shirt to play with. I wore a shirt yesterday with doodad's on it, needless to say, I don't have any more doodad's on my shirt! LOL

Another idea is to clip a clothespin to your shirt and see if he will play with that.

Pip's Mom, my lovie is famous for knocking off swings, mirrors, cuttlebones, etc too LOL I can't get him to stop! I wonder what the budgies think when he is picking off their toys one by one? Awww, the sky is falling!! LOL
