" Hello, my name is Fenway. I visited you four weeks ago when I escaped my cage to get to you. Mom put me back and kept us apart until today. I've been calling to you for weeks now. Have you heard me?"

"I was TK, but this new lady is calling me Wrigley. I don't like her hands too much. She does, however, coo at me and tell me how handsome I am all the time. I even flew and landed on her head for a while. She gives me treats" I have heard you calling. I've been calling back"

"Well, Wrigley, if you didn't understand what I was saying, this is MY house. I am the first bird, and I will make all the rules." *toe nibble* "So if I see you with something and I want it, you will need to let me have it. If I want to eat it then I get to eat it. " *toe nibble* "Basically I'm the boss-bird. I will let you know if you are misbehaving according to the rules I have made."

"OK, I guess. Can you show me what to do around here? Is that a boing??? Oooh...you're preening my neck. That feels good."

"Yes, lets fly over to the boing and preen each other"

"ok.."

To be continued.....

update:

Fenway and Wrigley seem to be getting along famously! :clap

Fenway definitely is the dominant bird in the flock, and tells Wrigley what he can or can't have, eat, or do.

They spend all thier out of cage time together, flying around, preening each other, and playing. I witnessed Wrigley gacking for Fenway.
Aside from the occassional bickering, which is really all just a bunch of noise and perhaps a toe nibble or two, they seem very well suited for companionship!

Fenway entered Wrigley's cage and investigated, and they both sat together on the swing and preened..:) I took some photos with my camera phone but they're too dark to post here. :( I have such handsome boys!

I hope to be introducing the new cage in a week or so, providing there are no setbacks. Fenway is already not as interested in me as he used to be...he does fly over and land on my shoulder for a visit, but he doesn't let me give him scritches any more. I suppose I should have seen that one coming.

"...I will let you know if you are misbehaving according to the rules I have made..."

OMG. I love it!

I'm so glad that Fenway and Wrigley are getting along so well :) That makes me very happy... and I'm thrilled that you were able to give Wrigley (fka TK) a wonderful home.

Keep us posted on their progress... with photos, if you can ;)

Wow Carrie...maybe once things settle down from all the excitement with Fenway meeting wrigley he will eventually spare a few moments for a scritch or two. Perhaps its worth it to see them so happy together. I'm sure though that if and when another lovebird should arrive I will likely feel the same :(. Ahh...The things we go through to keep our lovies happy :). We'll be waiting to see them in their new cage. Hope all goes well...........Michael and Goofy

I'm so happy for you!!!:clap
I'm getting closer to introducing Jack and Chino. There is a woman fairly close to here that says I should call her when I do it. She'll be able to give me moral support and advice.
I'm planning to do it on a Tuesday (not today though)- cuz that's when Avian Medical Center is open late. I'll have toys out, treats, gauze, cornstarch, and some kleenex for me!
Just watch- they'll be like "what's the big deal?" and I'll be a wreck! I'll try to be calm as possible so they don't pick up on my nervousness.
Congrats on Fenway & Wrigley's new friendship!
