I feel like any progress I've made with Beezle(widget if it's a girl), Has been me tricking him into doing something. He nibbles on things that arn't seeds by taking them out of my fingers before he knows what they are, he goes outside his cage because I bring the toys outside..

Now I'm trying to figure out if getting him to like me is also a trick... I'm really clueless and it seems as if very little or no progress has been made... I let him bite me only because that gives us some contact although I don't want him to turn into a vicious biter sooooo I'm confused!:confused:

He hardly ever responds to my voice, if I talk to him he sits and watches me. Sometimes my mom comes in to talk to him when I'm not around, she can make a high pitched noise that he really responds to, which I can't make... I dunno, maybe he likes her more than me?:roll:

i have had every thought and felt everything u've described at one time or another in dealing with my Cooper. It's hard not to take it personal when your bird flies to your friends instead of you and then proceeds to flirt with them and sit nicely without biting for several mins. while she eats you alive any chance you get.

My relationship with Cooper isn't the sweet cuddley velcro birdie one I had dreamed. But i look at it this way, cooper's a snot to me sometimes because she knows i love her unconditionally. Progress is slow..so so slow that if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't notice it.

It took cooper almost a year to start enjoying sitting on my head and to allow me a scritch here and there. It's two steps forward and one back, but when she's freightened and comes running to me i know that I am her safe place and that's enough.

Keep hoping, give both of you time, but most of all learn to think outside the box and spend time with beezle in ways he/she finds acceptable. Cooper doesn't care much for touch but LOVES for me to dote on her and tell her how pretty she is.. she also helps me study.. she chews on my notes while i read them to her, she seems to enjoy this quite a bit :lol
