I watch videos of lovebirds that get into everything, now beezle will chew on stuff I bring him but he doesn't seem to want to run around and explore nooks and crannies... does this make sense and is it normal? I brought him out to my computer on his favorite perch after locking the cats in the other room, and he is just sitting there... I handed him a sunflower seed and he chewed on it a bit now he's just looking at me... Is he scared? Maybe he doesn't trust me. I just hope he's normal :(

I have also witnessed Beezle playing with his toys in a manner I've seen videos on youtube where the creator says their bird is throwing a fit. He does this daily... Is this a fit or is it play? I'll try to get a video of it soon.

Luna doesn't explore either. I would guess it is because her wings are clipped and she just feels safe on or around me. I do let her play in the front window seal and after a couple of months of this she is now climbing up and down the curtains and hiding behind them. She is very rowdy while doing this so I would guess she is having alot of fun. That is the only place she is willing to be without me unless she is in her cage, though. I think it has to do with familiarity and feeling safe. I could be wrong, that is just my:2cents:.

Oh, and I have had her for about 41/2 mths now, I think.

Oh, and Luna does that when she wants me to come get her out of her cage. It gets my attention and she knows it. Then she also does it when she is just playing. I can usually tell the difference because when she wants my attention she will eyeball me afterwards and when she is just playing, she couldn't care less where I am.

Without seeing the video I am just guessing at what you are talking about, of course, but she will grab ahold of her jingly toy and jerk it back and forth rather forcefully making a loud racket.

Ditto is fully flighted and he still doesn't explore. He just likes to hang out with me and be happy. If I want him to explore I've got to walk around the house with him standing on my shoulder or arm.

As for the "fit", sometimes they just like to beat up their toys. A fit for Ditto is like beckyg said. He'll shake one of his bells, squawk and then look at me and yell. Then he'll do it again.

Oliver explores NOTHING! It's only been in the last 2 years (I've had him for 4 1/2 and he's 11 years old) that he's gone under his poop cape, the one I'm wearing, or into my bathrobe to snuggle and nap.

Big Boi and Shy came to me at around 9 weeks old and they are far more active, which I expected, and do explore quite a bit. But, Big Boi explores far more than Shy. Individual birdies, individual personalities.

peaches has been with me for a little over 9 mos. and i have just noticed lately she has become "christopher columbus" watch what you ask for. she used to just sit contently on the kitchen counter top eating seeds and such...NOW she wants to go behind the toaster, blender, microwave, refrigerator (eeekk) and when she's on the floor she goes right to the space where the stove sits! so i'll be putting tape or something over that and have to figure out a way to block the back of the refrigerator!

Peachie explores every nook and cranny in my apartment! I've had to block several places off where I couldn't get her if she got into them.

Some of you may remember the phase she went through when she decided to go behind my refridgerator!

Her favorite room is the kitchen. Don't know why. After hanging out with me for a little while, she'll wander off, play "nesty" behind my couch cushions, chew up the TV remote buttons if I forgot to put it out of reach, play with the cat toys, or explore behind my computer desk.

When she is let out of her cage my cat high tails it out of the room, out of sight or she'll get her butt kicked by Peachie. Peachie definitely rules the house. I'm just her custodian.

I love it when she is exploring, or finds somewhere to hide, and then starts calling to me in cute little musical tunes, and we go back and forth copying each other's calls. If I am quiet for too long she gets upset and her call changes tone and sounds more "urgent".

I've had Lilly for 5 years now. Her companion recently passed away so i find that she likes to stay closer to me now and doesn't explore as much. She likes to sit on me and clean herself and when i walk around the house she follows me. She's pretty clingy and the only time she ever leaves me now is when she runs into one of my stuffed animals, and im sure we all know what happens then
