No... it's not what you're thinking....:rotfl
I was just wondering if the genders of different species has anything to do with whether they get along. Like, it's known that for the most part, 2 male lovies get along better than 2 females...
Is it the same when, say, in my situation, trying to get Jack (lovebird) and Chino (gcc) to be friends? I'm not 100% sure of either of their genders.

Males tend to get along better when paired in same sex pairs but that's not always true in every situation. You really have to look at each bird/each pair separately. In my breeding career, I've seen some very strange friendships develop between birds when you would least expect it! How well these 2 would get along pretty much depends on them.
I just added Sonny (male CAG) to my flock, thinking/hoping he might take up with Ginger (female CAG). Did it happen? Nope! Sonny has a buddy and it's.......
....Monty (DYH Amazon)!
The friendship is something that they will have to work out between them. :)

Thanks, Linda,
I really want to know (and I REALLY don't) want to know Jack's gender.
I'm taking him in soon for a wing clip... also something I never thought I'd do... so I think I'll have him tested then.
The next time Chino's in, I'll test him, too.

Jeni, if you're taking bets on Jack's sex, let me know! :rotfl  :rotfl
