Eddie sometimes sits on my chest, facing me. Then he stands up big and tall and flaps his wings like crazy. Almost enough to take off, but he grips with his feet it seems. Does anyone know what this means?

laura - haven't you learnt the lovie mantra - if it is fun, silly, unusual, strange, then I must do it!!! :omg:

Kiwi does this all the time, usually when he is really excited, or happy, or stretching, or funny!!  It's also great exercise for them, so nothing to worry about. :)

Both mine do this i figure it's for exersize it's when the head starts bobing when they flap that ya gotta watch, it means they are about to fly someplace, probably the darkest dirtiest dustiest hard to reach place in the house lol.

My gosh already! Don't you get it? He's trying to get your attention so you'll finally change the T.V. channel and then go make some popcorn! (unbuttered and unseasoned of course...:))

When mine do this, it's because they're IN the cage and want to be OUT of the cage. Or if somebirdy has managed to get down on the floor where birdies are not supposed to be, if I don't immediately bend over to pick them up, they'll stand on my toes and flap their wings, meaning "I'm DOWN and I want to be UP."

But birds who do this when they're already OUT of the cage and UP off the floor...hmm... I'm at a loss.

I think he may be excercising. Or feeling his oats ..... or um.... seed so to speak. I am no longer worried he seems to be having fun.

Today I started working with him on a trick. We'll see how it goes.

I had someone hack into my you tube account and post some horrible dirty things (xxx) on my videos, so I deleted them all. Very disapointing.

Mine does this on my shoulder while screaching and facing her cage... I assume that it means "take me to my cage right now, I am hungry" since when I take her to her cage she stops and immediately goes to her food :D.

I know, I know, she's got me trained.
