So lastnight me and my partner were eating dinner out and a guy walked in to get his takeout order, i didnt see a lovebird on him till i heard the distinctive peep.
Well the lovebird seemed a little old and was very very well behaved did tons of calls and tricks like shakeing hands and hanging upside down and wouldnt leave his shoulder unless the owner told it to.
I was in shock well behaved AND knows tons of tricks! I asked him how he did it, he said tons of time and patience and the first 5 years were hard as he would act up alot but now that he is older he is a sweetheart,
So i said ah a male that helps and the man agreed and he said that when his bird was hatched in 1982 he never imagined he could be so close and love something so much.....I was woa did you say 1982?!?!?!?!?!
he laughed and said yes his bird is 25 years old but other then being a little slower and sleeping a bit more then before hes in the same health!:omg:
Well that made me smile for two reasons one i never heard of a lovebird that old so gives me hope i will have my babies for a while to come and two that they continue to learn so i still have a chance to get sunshine and boo to do some tricks and not maul me when i try to give them scritches!:clap

wow. that's so amazing. i always dream of being that way with francis (he's my #1, i hate to admit it, but it's true)...i always hope that i can keep him in good health. i know that if anything was to ever happen to him, i'd blame myself

mine don't do any tricks, just masters of mischief! haha, i wouldn't even know where to begin to teach them. although i'd love too.

nice story. :)

Hooray! I too am sooooo excited to hear that.

Was he clipped?

You didn't happen to ask him what he fed him did you?

Oh, ,and what color is he? I always thought the traditional green peachfaced would live longer than these "mutations". Anyone know is that is true?
