I read that if a lovebird is humping something in their cage it is a sign of aggression.
My Keiko has started humping his happy hut everyday for ages and it only started when I got a new lovebird.
Is he telling the new lovebird that it is HIS house and to go away?
Everytime I go to let them play outside together he attacks the new one by biting her feet.
I am wondering if I should just give up and put them in seperate rooms forever and never let them see each other??

IMHO, what you've been reading is BS. My little "humper," Shy, is not in the least bit aggressive and he's been at it for almost 2 years, daily, several times a day. You are going to get a lot of different opinions and information surfing the net so you have to decide which info. is the best. I think this forum has the best lovebird information I've found in the four and a half years since I adopted my first lovie.

Mydoona. I'm with Janie on her comments regarding Keiko's mating behavior as it is not a sign of aggression at all. What you may be experiencing by coincidence is Keiko becoming more of an adult at the time you introduced another lovebird. This I suspect after reading back when you first brought Keiko home in August/07. That would make her about 9 months old. Do you know the true gender of both your lovebirds? This could help in explaining some behavior that may simply be territorial while having little to do with the actual sexual behavior itself.

absolutely!!! kiwi has absolutely no agression in him whatsoever, and humps everything he can - daily!! the humping is a sign of sexual maturity, and is an instinctive drive the birds have to mate. i think the humping (sexual in nature) and the feet biting (an agressive action) are two seperate issues. what gender are your two lovies? perhaps the addition of the new lovie has brought out keiko's insinctual drive to mate?

It sounds like to me a combination of hormones and the new lovebird exciteing the other one, as for the agression keep a close eye on it to make sure it does not get to serious i know my two went through a month of foot biteing and beak battleing until boo accepted sunshine and sunshine realized boo is the alpha bird they squable still to this day but so long as it is normal foot biteing and beak battleing i think it's ok.
Now normal meaning not hard enough to break skin or cause blood or loss of feathers, and yes they will chase each other even to the point of off perches and cages, it's a dominance thing i bealive but i am by no means an expert this is just my experiance:)

Agree with what the others have said. Humping is not aggressive behavior. It's spring and birdy hormones are raging. This would most likely happen with or without another bird in the house.

Just to add.... I can pet Shy when he's humping his birdie buddy. He doesn't mind at all. I can also remove him from the buddy in the middle of a lovemaking session and he's fine with that, too.

I can't blame him for that, Jennifer! I'm really kind of surprised that Shy puts up with me sometimes! He would NOT allow Oliver or Big Boi to come near him when he's makin' love to his buddy, just me! :D
