I think Keiko and Mardi are finally getting along....Keiko doesn't bite Mardi's feet anymore but Mardi does a head bob with her mouth WIDE open when she sees Keiko...is this a defense posture or a friendly posture?

It's hard to tell witouth seing it. Usually, when the neck is streched and the beak is opened and the head is moving up and down, can be a warning, or an agression as you call it.
How far is Keiko froom Mardi when Mardi does that? are the wings slightly open?

Keiko is only inches away from Mardi when she does it and yes the wings are slightly open.

I've heard that sometimes head bobbing is showing dominance to other birds (or what they think might be a bird).

Today the were both out in the bird room with Keiko chasing the new bird Mardi...then I opened the door and they both flew out into the lounge room.
Then they settled together on my bookcase and actually started to preen each other (although Keiko was nibbling Mardis feet..well not biting them..it was more like cleaning them and Mardi didn't seem to mind???) I hope this is the start of a beautiful friendship for them.
