Fenway has started making a click noise that my husband and I always make. Like a "tick tick tick tick". He'll even repeat (sometimes, LOL) after you do it.
I SWEAR this morning he said "Fenway" in a little robotic voice. He didn't repeat it after, but it definitely wasn't a sound I've heard him make before (and it sounded JUST like Fenway).
What sounds do your lovebirds mimic?

Mine just makes cat calls and different parts of songs I've whistled to her, no matter how many times I've repeated things to her she refuses to talk :D.
Thats neat that Fenway copies you!:)

Baby can say her name- she goes "bee-bee, bee-bee"...and when I repeat back "Baby", she really gets going, "Bee-bee, bee-bee"...and at times she says what sound like "purtee-burd" and when she says that, I repeat back, "pretty bird" and then she really gets going, "purtee burd, purtee burd". I asked the vet about this, and he said its not unusual for a lovie to learn and speak their name and to just keep talking to them as they will find a way to communicate, eventhough they won't talk like an african grey or a quaker they can say a few things.

Piper is the only lovie I have that mimics. He makes the kissy sound I make when I kiss all of them. When I gently grab his beak in between my fingers, he makes the kissy sound. He does it when he tries to feed me too. He's a cutie! :D

Wow, that's amazing! I wish Luna was more willing to say things, but she is a lone bird so maybe that makes a difference... well who knows! Like they say no bird is alike!

I dont think it really mattes if there is a single bird, if you keep repeating a certain word to her Im sure she will catch it....After all, lovies are smart little ones:happy:
