How well do lovebirds see?

The reason I ask is because I think Fenway thinks the tip of the broom is a bird. :rotfl Whenever I sweep (which is about 6 times a day, thanks to the bird, LOL), he completely flips out. If he isn't out already, he hangs on the cage door and flaps his wings.

If he is out, he makes his happy bird clicks and bobs his head and will follow the broom to whichever side of my shoulders it's on. He is even beginning to learn where I leave the broom when it is not in use. If the broom makes any noise (hits a chair when I am sweeping), he talks back to it. I am pretty darn sure my bird is in love with the broom.

So, I was wondering, how is their eye sight? He doesn't get as excited when he has his mirror time (he comes with me when I do my makeup in the morning).

Oh their eye sight is very good as is their hearing. When I come home from work, the first thing I do is change my clothes for birds & poop. One day I walked into the birdroom with a pair of stripe lknit lounge pants and Piper went nuts! He ran to the back of the cage, tried hiding in his cozy and wouldn't come out - screaming. Well, the other birds were soon screaming right with him. So, needless to say, I had to go change my pants to get them to come out of their cages

I agree that their eyesite is good,I put one of Keikos favourite pellet foods in my pocket that he left on the floor on the opposite side of the room and when I let him out he came straight to me and down into the pocket to get the pellet....unless his sense of smell is good too...
