I want to thank Eric for letting me bring home Terry today. Terry is just over 1 year old and a green violet, single factor orange faced male. He is absolutely handsome as are all of Eric's flock. Kira went back to see Eric & the Flock today and she was a bit well....willful, which is my girl! She definitely got her exercise in. She likes things on her terms. It took me forever to get her to step up consistently, and still to this day if she doesn't want to she flutters away. She followed Kermits lead a lot of times and would do what he did. Eric was nice enough to trim some of her flight feathers, so that ought to slow her down some.
Anyways Eric had a bird who is just a little younger than Kira without a mate so he offered to let me take him. At Eric's, Kira and Terry sat next to each other on a perch, no squabbling, which was better than when I introduced Kermit & Kira they pecked at each other for a week! At home they are doing well, lots of chattering. I think it's been quite a shock to Kira, as she depended on Kermit a lot. She's going through quite a bit right now, she's also getting ready to molt. I'm starting to think that Kermit was feeding her, as he was little Mr piglet, and would always run to the food dish first, but he was very skinny, Kira's weight feels good though.
