Hey guys,

Boogie has been gacking and masturbating a lot lately...and I was just wondering about how many times a day your lovies gack. It seems like everytime I turn around he is gacking on something in his cage..mainly his swing..and then eating it :x What is a normal rate for this activity?

My Keiko masterbates on his happy hut every morning at 8am for about half an hour,then will go ding his bell and gack on the ladder rung next to it for the next half hour...then eats,plays and does this about 4 times a day...Mardi just looks at him in disgust and trys to keep out of his way.

My old lovebird Li'l Devil used to do this all the time. He seemed to view the bird pacifier that I bought for him as a mate, and would spend HOURS "courting" it and humping it.

My new guy Odie is only 5 months, so he hasn't started this yet.

Christain, I don't know what's normal but I've got one (Shy) that gacks from sunup to sundown! He is three and has been gacking like that for two years. I do weigh him weekly and his weight remains steady at 54 to 56 grams so I guess he's eating his gack as often as he's gacking his gack!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who is having this problem :) But I do wish he didn't do it so frequently...its disgusting..and I am constantly having to clean his swing (as in EVERY day!)
