Hi

This is my little girl Bobble, she is 2 months old today! Just out of interest if it is possible to know now, is she a dutch turquoise? This is what it says on her hatch certificate. She has a white face, grey on top of her head and a blue all over with a very strong blue on her tail.

It is still a bit soon to tell for sure. She looks like she could be a Turquoise (Whiteface Blue)with a single violet factor but the pictures are a little dark and I can not tell with her tail. But like i said she is also young still. I previously had a bird I thought was a whiteface violet(like her mom was) and she turned out to be a Seagreen(AquaTurquoise). But I agree she is a beautiful girl no matter what type.

I did wonder if it may be too soon to tell, thanks for the help. The pictures are too dark, I agree, suppose thats what I get from taking them by the window! :D

Your lovebird is just gorgeous but it's about a month too soon to be able to tell what mutation you have. "Dutch Turquoise" is a combination of two names and it's pretty much a created name rather than a recognized mutation name. Possibilities are Dutch Blue (Aqua), WF Blue (Turquoise) or Seagreen. It's very hard to see the coloring of the rump feathers so it's best to wait until this one is about 4 months old to try to determine what he/she is. :)
