My friend sent it to me through mms so the pictures are very very small.

Can anyone figure out roughly what bird this is? Thank you! :)

[bg info: We are in SE asia, Singapore - that's where the bird is found]

If you were in the USA I would say a young song sparrow fledgling but I have no idea about what birds are in your area. You might "google" birds of Singapore and find info. there.

umm that's kinda hard. there's not much research that i know of about wildlife here. (there's practically none here. it's a small island 680sqkm or 260sqmiles)

does it look like a house finch?

a tree sparrow is common here too.

I have raised and released a few baby sparrows in my bird years (the ones the kids in the neighborhood brought to me) and I'd have to say that does look like a sparrow youngster. They are carnivorous...bugs, flies, meal worms, crickets etc. How's the lil one doing today?

If you have Mockingbirds in Singapore, that's what I thought when I opened the links. Are there white patches on each wing? That's one characteristic that easy to identify. Or is this bird smaller?

oooh. it's feasting on juicy mealworms from what i heard.

(are finches carnivorous as well?)
