woow.. i wish there was an australian version..

its interesting I would have thought a lovebird would have been around 4/5 at least.

not surprised about the cockatiel though.

Not surprised about the Cockatiel either..... the publisher is a Cockatiel owner! :lol I was pleased to see that lovebirds are rated as high as they are since I constantly hear from people that they didn't think they would make a good pet. WRONG! :D

Hey -- lovebirds in the top 10. That's awesome :D And brotos in the top 25? That's really nice to see :) It's a shame that there aren't more around, though.

While lovebirds are always going to be the #1 avian companion in my book, I can't help but agree that cockatiels are pretty darn amazing, too :)

I was suprised that finches, doves and canaries were so far down the list. Maybe cause they're not very hands-on birds.
Does anyone know why poi's and pionus are always italicized when in print? There are other birds with latin-type names, but I see those two written like that everytime.

Good question!

I wonder if it is related to being the scientific name. I sometimes see brotogeris is italics... but not often.

I'm glad to see parrotlets and amazons up there too! parrotlets are really overlooked, and i find that amazons are way greater than their reputation lets on! they're all great, of course I think lovies, amazons, macaws and p'lets are the best :D
