we give a lot of love to our little Isabella birdie - we shower her with affection and treat her like our child - (OK if you read my last post - YES i still call her a she even thought she is a HE - whatever :P)

of course we provide her with a lovely bath quite often - and if we forget she will fly to the sink and chirp until we remember -

that did not happen today

we got home and my husband took a shower - she likes to perch on the shower rod or even our heads when we take a shower. so my hubby turns on the shower and she sat on the rod - he turns around and she is gone! so he opens the curtain and she is standing on the bottom of the tub with her eyes closed just enjoying the shower!!!

she sat there for about 2 mins while i ran over to take a peek - (my hubby was yelling at me to come over and look at it) - i got there and she sat there for a min longer - and then I started to get worried - she didnt move - she didnt open her eyes - she has a heart arrythmia - and I thought she was so scared she couldnt move! so my husband turned off the shower and as soon as he did that she opened her eyes - and didnt move - and just waited till he came and got her - we put her in her cage - and she just sat there for a bit and started to preen herself -

when we carried her to her cage she jsut let out those cute little content chirps -

i have never seen or heard anything like that!! has anyone?

could she be sick? is this normal?

Jack chrips like that when i scratch his head it turns his head right round do i can get to the underside of his beak, while he make those cute chirps, so i wouldnt worry about that, but if you worried due to that heart condition and you notice behaviour out of the ordinary then i would not hesitate to get to the vet

LOL- I hear ya... my bird laid 6 eggs, but I still forget to call her a she. She'll always be my Jack (Flapjack). I don't think "he" minds. :)

I hope she was just enjoying the rain shower, and nothing is wrong. Keep us posted.
I haven't tried the shower thing with my guys yet. I think Chino would be scared, and Jack would just fly around the bathroom. Maybe I'll get them a shower perch and try it.

Not to worry!!!! Buddy is strickly a dunker--in my cupped hands under gently running water--and doesn't get herself very wet at that. But Bo was another story. I would turn the water on, a bit coolish for my liking but hey, he didn't like hot water. I would hold my arm out in front of me, elbow bent a little. He would sit on the back of my hand. I then let the water hit my shoulder so it made a spray or mist. He would close his eyes, point his beak straight up, and totally zone out! This lasted till I got too cold. He was soooooo blissful that it was worth my cold shower :) You just have a fid who knows how to relax  Wonder if a plant mister bottle would be appreciated? Don't spray it directly at your baby, just up in the air so the mist gently falls onto her.
