I have had Mardi now for 9 months and she is a year old.
She wont come to me but lately she doesnt fly away when I come near anymore and she is doing a moment like she is laughing but no sound is coming out (mouth open, head bobbing)..is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Sounds like she is regurgitating as a way to show herself a good food provider for both a prospective mate and babies. Sometimes they will expell a little sustenance and other times not. Either way, this would be a very good thing. If you feel uncomfortable about her actions let us know, as many members birds share the same ritual. By the way, do you know Mardi's true gender?

I have seen her tucking paper into her wings and she started to build a nest and gave up, so Im guesssing shes a female.
