new addition

Nooo, it's not another bird! Today we got a dog, his name is Mack, he is 1 1/2 yrs. old and he is a mix of a poodle and labrador retriever. So far things are going ok......he doesn't show much interest in the birds. Ivy was very scared of him, but she is already getting used to him.....still a little nervous! My tiels were a little taken back at first, but over a year ago, they used to used to the idea of a big dog roaming around the house. Of course then there's Pip......I'm sure he's thinking......Ohhhhh, a new friend! but I have to be very careful.....especially with Pip because he's all over the place and so small! I'm thinking in time the birds and dog will co-exist fairly well. I'm just taking it slow! Will post new pics soon.

Hahaha! ok, but I have to upload them to photobucket.....tomorrow I am off so I will post them then! So far so good with Mack and the birds.....he does seem interested and curious at times, but he is the same way about everything else in the house too! He seems very good natured, so hopefully he will get used to the birds and them to him......really only Ivy is the one who has the adjusting to do......the others don't care.

We got him from a family re-homing him because they had to move and into an apartment so they couldn't keep him. Just got back from the vet and he does have some medical issues, but nothing that can't be taken care of. a little depressed over the bill though! :( We got all his shots updated too. So far he seems to do really well with the birds! and he's a very good dog, very well mannered and not hyper or overexcited like puppies get!

Mack looks like he is just oozing personality! I've heard labradoodles are great dogs. Congrats on your new family member!

He reminds me of our beloved Misha, now long gone to doggy heaven.
