can anyone tell me what the ring of different colored feathers is around sky's neck? Lemonypicket an I were discussing it and neither of us knew. Can anyone chime in? Is it a bad thing or just different feathers? Personally I think its beautiful!

I've seen yellow feathering like that on much older birds, kind of like grey hair in humans. I've seen it permanent and I've also seen them molt out. If the beak were too long and I saw those yellow feathers, I would be suggesting a vet check for possible liver problems. You may want to do it anyway, as I've seen liver problems without overgrown beaks. Ginger (my CAG) was one of those birds!

yes, she has had it since we have had her and we have had her for 5 months. and she is about 8 months old. She has never shown signs of anything bad and she is very active and eats and drinks just fine.

I wonder if someone plucked her when she was a baby and that caused something to happen to the pigment.
