I have a rather silly question but do love birds have belly buttons? The reason I ask is because today a new baby was hatched...so cute...anyways, I was observing Jake and Kiwi tending to him/her...and I noticed Jake was pulling at something and I looked closely and it looks exactly like an umbilical cord coming out from the babies belly...what is this....? I never noticed it on the other two babies that hatched...

Would make sense to me in some form, since the bird still has to have nutrients delivered to it in the egg, but I'm no expert by any means.

Well I tried to get the best pic I could, I really do not want to disturb them all that much...but as you can see in the pic there is a green cord like thing coming out where a belly button would be....and when he hatched out of the egg there was a long string of white goop between the cord like thing and the egg shell.....and this "Thing"(lol) is what Jake keeps trying to pull on.
