Absolutely! One of my playgyms is tinkertoy, and my birds love it.
There are so many different configurations, and you can make swings out of them, twirly things, etc.
I love tinkertoys!

lol- I was taking pics of it and my camera died. I'll post a better one when my batteries charge, but here's an example...

Ughhh! Nevermind- I can't get it to post just the link instead of the pic. I tried a couple of times, but it's not working.
It keeps posting the whole pic.

Linda- any idea why? I've never had this problem before...

Tinker toys are a popular choose for playgyms when you own a bitty parrot like a budgie, lovie or p-let.

You can also make a playgym out of a wooden clothes drying rack:

How strange...

Lol, I have a lot of forum experience. I run a Disney Forum for kids and can do this stuff blindfolded! ;)

What you need to do is select the codes that say "Direct Link". This then posts a pic that is the same size as the one your uploaded. The Link that is given for Forum Use reduces the size of the pic so that it takes up less space on a forum.

When you post a URL that is inside of the IMG tags, it posts the actual image on the screen because of the tags. So just post the link and you'll be okay!

Ummm- did you just say "*(&^% %$&() $0 !@*$%& <+{&* "*^$#) ?

Cuz that's what it sounded like to me, LOLOL.

Ok, in English, what I have always done is click where it says IMG Code, and the word "copied" flashes on for a second. Then, I go to the message, right click, and choose "paste". I've posted numerous pics on here this way, but all of a sudden, it won't do it right.

Have I lost my mind???

Okay....let me make this easier.

What are you copying looks like this:
URL OF PHOTO

You just need to remove those IMG tags that are BEFORE and AFTER your URL. Those IMG tags are what makes the picture "show" on the post instead of linking it.

Just choose the "first" option on Photobucket, which is the Direct URL code. That will just post the URL here on the forums for others to click & view.

I see what is happening now. You are getting the URL link from the WHOLE screen of pictures in the album. When you do that, it gives you a thumbnail link.

I know coding can be complicated, and here is the problem....

http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa92/Flapjack_album/Flappuccino/th_IMG_1128.jpg

See RIGHT after the Flappuccino in the URL there, it has a /th? That is coding for "Thumbnail" which basically means you are posting that tiny little picture URL that is in your album that you preview before you click on the poc to make it big

If you click on the picture to make it big, get the link and post it, then you won't get that "th" in the URL link to make the link on the small side.

Have you tried education stores? Sometimes they carry that kind of stuff because we use it to hang easel paintings to dry...

Jessica- I'm really sorry- your original post was about tinkertoys, and that's what I was trying to show you.
I really didn't mean for it to turn into a thread about my pics.
Anyway- there are lots of really cute things you can make for your babies out of all kinds of materials. Just have fun with it, and they'll love it, I'm sure!

I would look for wood. Plastic is hard for birdies to perch on.

Flapjack

I didn't even know tinkertoys came in plastic. I didn't pay attention when I first saw the pic. Laura is right.
Mine are wooden.

I googled wooden clothes drying racks & found 3 under $30, made of unfinished birch & pine. They all have 14' of drying space & look thr same to me.

I really like this idea & will probably try one! They have lots of wooden tinker toys on E bay but most of them have painted wood. I remember tinker toys as being all one color--unfinished wood color. I guess I'm dating myself because the only set I saw that was all natural wood, no paint, was manufactured in 1914!!!

I know folks who use these as play gyms and have had no problems. I think it's a great idea for most. It won't work for our flock. They are too destructive and will have one of these shredded in a few days:x.
