Many who know me know I have wanted a Parrotlet for many years. I tried to wait and offer one a home.
It seemed I was always too late or too far away. Also well it seems not many need new homes.
This Christmas I decided it was time to get me a baby. In all honesty except the few i bred myself I have never owned a baby bird. They have always been adopted or rescues or fosters.
So this is my very first ever baby bird that is all mine forever and ever. How cool is that.
It just hit me how much I missed a hands on bird when the 2 Lovebirds I was fostering went to their new home. I have to admit I thought of adopting but the call came and well i did not want to block a adoption. The family seemed really great too. They had a large cage and had owned another one in the past and so had experience So they were going to a great home.
But it still left me all alone just me and the Canaries
So I contacted a lady and she said she had one little male green one in my price range.
I picked him up 2 Saturdays ago.
His name is Brooklyn. He is a handful and such a little dickens.
I adore him.
The lady who i got him from did not have any toys in the cage and she only fed him pellets
He is 8 months and is growing more loving by the day. At first I could not give scritches he has quickly learned though that those are good things. :)
He also is eating a little seed, Nutriberries, Beak Appetitie, Veggies, fruit I give a little something new every couple days so as not to overwhelm him.
When I try a new thing i make a big deal and say Yummy num nums and he digs in with gusto. Some things he does not care for Spinach is one Kale he likes though Apples and carrots and broccoli are all on the good list. So he does not dislike a lot.
Anyway I am a Happy new Mom for the very first time to a new baby and I am thrilled and had to share even if it is not a lovebird.
here he is
