I have bought my fids 4 different styles of "sleep huts". After one full year, of washing, sleeping and "swishing".... the clear winner for wear and tear.... and NO lose threads or frayed strapping is ....

I requested that she stitch a line onto either side of the plastic floor that is hidden in the hut for stability. That was the only problem I had. Without a stitch to keep it in place, after washing it, I had to manipulate it to the right position or the hut wouldn't make a proper triangle shape. She said it was no problem. They are polar fleece inside and out. After a year of washing, it did not get "pilly" at all.

So... I highly recommend these. Eddie loves the ones sized Small (as he is a cuddlebug) but it is snug. A medium size might be better suited to birds just getting used to a hut. She also uses zinc free pear links for the top.

I just bought one from Fosters and Smith and two washes later... the top of the bed has so many frays I no longer trust using it. I have to snip off all kinds of dangerous things each time I wash it.

Oh neat! I had been looking for fleece huts but they don't sell them at any stores here, only the fuzzy ones. It's not that I've had a problem with the fuzzy ones or anything over the years, but I wouldn't mind making the switch. I just wish she would make solid colored ones, though. I do not care for any of those prints... With the current brand I have, I always had gotten Mika a green one and Kano a yellow one, 'cause I remember reading a long time ago about how it's "better" to get them Happy Huts that are closest to their color but I don't remember the reason that was given.

I wonder if she'd make custom ones? Or maybe I can show a picture of it to my friend and see if she'd be able to make them... hmmmmmm. Moopiland Huts!! Hehe.
