is plucking a feather to do DNA testing a good choice? It's that or blood. I think it's called feather sexing. its on the avian bio tech website.

Either feather sexing (plucking chest feathers) or blood sexing can be done. I think feather sexing is more accurate, as it's possible to have the blood sample become contaminated if the nail being short cut is not cleaned well enough. To do feather sexing, you need to freshly pluck at least 3 chest feathers and send them to Avian Biotech.
