Hi Krystal and welcome to our community!
Yes, age 6 weeks is normally too young for baby lovebirds to be sold!! It does not sound like they are completely eating on their own so you are going to have to either return them to place of purchase until they wean or buy some formula (anything but Kaytee!) and continue to hand feed them roughly 3-4 times/day (max 8 cc of formula warmed to 106F-108F degrees). Parent fed babies are normally eating on their own at age 8-9 weeks. Hand fed take longer.
Did place of purchase (breeder or pet shop) tell you they are completely eating on their own. Here is a link to my article on hand feeding baby lovebirds in case you need it: http://www.lovebirdsplus.com/handfeeding.html
Please keep us updated on what's happening. If these young lovebirds can't eat enough by themselves, they will die from starvation. We are here to help you if you need us.
Do you have any pictures you can share with us so I can see what they look like? At this age, it's not hard to determine just how accurate the information is that you were given.

When I got Eddie I was told he was 6 weeks, but some people here think he was actually older. Maybe that is the case here too. Do you have a picture?
