Phew - today's been rough. But I managed to clean out Lukas cage which was cathartic but horrifically painful. Anyway - what do I do with the toys? Can I keep them for the next bird?
Also - can I clean the happy hut in the washing machine?

I frequently wash my happy hut in the washing machine just let it air dry.
As far as the toys, anything that can be soaked in a bleach solution can probably be kept, just well disinfected. As far as fabrics and stuff that would hold onto stuff and not handle disinfection well you may want to scrap as well as as anything with little nooks and crannies that may be missed by disinfection and cleaning.

Also--if you can get some Oxyfresh...not oxyclean...that is a good birdsafe disinfectant that will kill even the polyoma virus. here is a link to where you can order it from if you are interested...http://parrotisland.mainsecureserver.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=191
