Just love to bury your nose in your fids feathers and give them lots of kisses!!?? or is there something wrong with me??:rofl: Oh my gosh--I just love how my little Zoe smells and how soft her feathers are!! She lays on her back, and just lets me bury my nose in her belly...and now it's our bedtime, so I have to put her in her cage for the night:very_sad::very_sad:, and I have to work 12 hour shifts all weekend, so won't get to spend as much time with her. She is great though...when I come from work at the end of a long day away-she is right at her cage door, just waiting for me to pick her up. And she plays non-stop now...she just loves her toys and is really turning into quite the little acrobat with them. I'll try to get some good video of her going crazy on her toys...but you all know me and how much I hate to take pics and video...:rotfl:rotfl OMG__I just love this little bird sooooooo much!!!!!

actually . . i totally do that every morning. i can't help but smoosh my nose in her cute little back when i get her out. i always have this fear that i'll pull up the cover on her cage and find her at the bottom (yeah, probably irrational, but it's my worst nightmare), so every morning i find her alive and happy, i can't help but rub my nose on her feathers a little.

Hi, yes, I do the same thing with Bea, not so much with Pallie, our gcc and I don't know why. Also, in the morning I always wait to hear both Bea and Pallie before I take off the covers. I also wait to hear them when I come home from work for the same reason you mentioned. I don't think it's irrational imho, but it's my biggest fear and I love them so!

Actually, there was a thread not too long ago about smelling birdie feathers. It started out with someone wondering if they were weird because they love to smell their birdie's feathers. Before long, half the board had chimed in to proclaim that they, too, were feather sniffers! I, for one, would much rather sniff birdie feathers than that expensive white powder! Not that maintaining bird feathers is necessarily a less expensive habit :omg: So, to answer your question, YES! I don't just love my daily dose of nose-in-the-fid-feathers, I require it

After losing Skittles so suddenly, that is my biggest fear with Zoe too, and when I'm at work, I call home several times a day to make sure she is ok!!

Kiwi smells soooooooo yummy that I can't help but smell his feathers every chance I get. When we are watching tv at night, Kiwi lies in my hand sleeping, all fluffed up and adorable, and I use the opportunity to dig my nose right in!!:blush::blush: :happy::happy:

Reading this thread is somewhat of a relief. I think this may be a common morning ritual among parronts. I thought I was just paranoid. For the few short mornings I had my fids, I would pull up the covers and make noise to get them moving around, and when I assured myself they were OK, I'd pull them out and smell them. They smell so good! I absolutely love the smell of parrots!
Finding Enko chan in the bottom of the cage was probably on par with some other major life shocks, and I am eternally grateful that at the very least, I was able to hold and comfort Loki when he died.
I look forward to the blissful scent of my new fid. Many people dislike the smells and sounds of birds, but all but the loudest and most grating of parrot screams are pleasing to me- and any reasonably clean parrot is probably my #1 favorite smell.
So, while I cannot say that you are not weird, I can definitely attest that you are in good company!:grouphug1

 Guilty as charged. I do my fair share of sniffing Peanut and Joey. I love the way they smell. Joey's (A lineolated parakeet) feather smell different than Peanut's.
And, I admit to also waiting to hear Peanut in the morning before breathing a sigh of relief. I don't think we are crazy, I just think we are hopelessly devoted to our fids

Me too! I love to bury my nose in Ducky's feathers and smell them. And I give him lots of kisses too. My husband thinks I am weird. Apparently, I am not! I am not alone in this habit.
Squeaky won't let me do this. If I'm lucky I get to give him scritches when he is sitting on my shoulder. That is ok - it took over 14 years to be able to do this so I am very grateful.
I remember when I first got Squeaky and Blue Meanie, I was terrified of losing them. And 13 & 1/2 years later I did lose Blue Meanie. :very_sad: It was devastating. I try not to worry too much now. I enjoy every moment with my birdies that I can. :)
