DRINK! I mean, he has to be because I've had him for almost a month now and he acts healthy, looks healthy, poops right, but me nor my husband has never seen him drink! Ive even sat him on the water dish, put water on my finger and rubbed it on his beak and all that and he just doesnt seem interested when I try to get him to drink infront of me. Any ideas of whats going on?

You know, I noticed that Gus wasn't drinking very much & it worried me. My bf assured me that he had to be drinking because he was being active! Just to be sure, I went out and bought a dish that I could clip onto the cage. I put it high in the cage, right near a perch so Gus could walk right to it. & you know what? The second I put it in, he ran over and drank out of it - A LOT!! Now this is his main water dish. I have never seen him use the one that came with the cage but I still leave it there & change it daily, just incase he wants to bath in or drink from it one day!

hi Nacho--Rest assured-your Nacho is drinking...if he wasn't, he would have died of dehydration by now. he is just doing it when you aren't there to catch him...maybe he is shy:whistle:

Pip is my biggest drinker of the bunch....I always see him drinking! All I have to do is bring him a fresh dish of water and he's right there to take a drink! My other birds tend to drink less often, but will drink alot at one time, so if you don't catch them at that one time they drink.....you miss it! I think in the wild they might drink this way in case they don't come across water for a while.....drink alot at once, and not very often.

My tiels sneak drinks, my sun conures bathe then drink, and my lovebirds make soup!

haha! yeah, i noticed that sunny drank more when the water dish was moved higher. Also, i can offer her a glass of water after a flying session & she'll take a sip.

my mom's hina is hilarious... i almost never see her drink out of her dish, but will catch her bathing... and if you are changing her water, you must offer it to her before putting it back in. She will drink lots then.
