:omg: Just when I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, along comes a whopper, I think.
Dad Petey is doing the clickey dance with his baby, and baby looks wary. Baby Chickie will be 6-weeks old on Sunday. I know Petey and Juanita have mated twice already since yesterday, so shouldn't Petey be directing his attentions to Juanita? Also, I'm afraid Petey might be harassing Chickie with his attentions.
Juanita spends her entire time looking for things to shred because I think she's got laying on her mind (plastic egg time), although she's not too busy to still give Petey a hard time when he wants to feed Chickie, even outside her cage.
Chickie can fly tight U-turns now and he's increasing the flight distance but he still needs to be fed by Petey. I think Juanita has stopped feeding Chickie, except for the pacifier (her beak, no food) that she gives him.
Should I do anything?

This is something I would watch carefully. It's possible that Petey is just expressing affection for his baby. Hard to tell without watching what's going on. The baby is way too young for anything to happen but you don't need Petey mounting the little one, either!!
Since Petey is feeding Chickie and Juanita isn't, it would be hard to remove Petey at this point. However, if the amorous behavior continues, one way to discourage it is with the use of a spray bottle filled with water. Set it for stream (not mist) and spray Petey each time he tries to do what you don't want him doing. Water will not hurt anyone and it will get the proper message across very quickly!

Thank you, Linda! Never have I needed an experienced hand guiding me than now.
And my aim is pretty good, too! I 've had months of practice spraying ants in the backyard. Never thought this skill would come in handy one day!
Best.

This thread reminds me of a family I knew who had a CAG. The grandfather wasn't overly fond of the bird & kept a spray bottle close at hand. One day when I was there but the GF wasn't, I heard the Gray say: "You see this? You see this? D**n bird!!!!" in a perfect imitation of the GF's voice as he brandished the spray bottle at the bird.

The power of the spray bottle...:) But I haven't had to use it, yet. Maybe it was a temporary brain freeze in Petey? I'm watching him, though.

Spray bottle haha. Eric tried this method with my cockatoo when he was being naughty. Everytime my cockatoo would get excited and spread his wings for a bath! LOL. Making Eric even more angry.
Never thought of putting it on stream tho

:lol :lol
A spray bottle set for stream doesn't work with Ginger, my Congo Grey! To Ginger, that signals a bath and I end up having to empty most of the water bottle just so she can get wet! However, it does distract her from what she was originally doing.........

Distract and conquer--a good tactic for bratty 2-year-olds, whether wearing hair or feathers :)
