Hello
Its been awhile since I have been on here. Well I have the sweetest lovebird and I am now able to take him out alot more which is really good...but lately he has been making really loud chirps that get annoying...is there anyway to make his chirps not so loud?? I dont expect his to always be quite but he use to sing pretty now its just really way to loud.......any advice?

haha that's funny because I posted about this when Gus started doing that. It just means your lovey is settled in and happy so he's letting the world know. Gus normally does it during the day when he hears birds outside - it took some getting used to but now for whatever reason if we are in the room he's pretty quiet, especially if we let him roam outside his cage, then hes REALLY quiet, just exploring!

Mine is pretty quiet out of the cage too. She doesn't freak out if the room is fairly quiet. Almost like she is saying she doesn't want to hear really loud sounds. Sometimes if she sounds bored I move her cage to the window so she can peer outside. That might be something to try if your bird can't see out the window on its own.

Hi Brookie. While it is true some lovie parrots will become set in their ways, you can never really be certain it will always stay that way. If I may ask, how old is your lovebird? Are you certain of his gender?

Besides some of the most common lovie traits such as flat out wanting more attention from you, others might be in search of a mate. And yes, that could be YOU ! Could very well be a spell too, where things may just eventually calm down. Hard to say though whats really going on without first gathering a few more details. Has there been any recent environmental changes, such as new furnishings, new toys, things moved around, noise outside, or a new pet rattlesnake? Sometimes, even the most simple changes can result in what is otherwise deemed "uncharacteristic" behavior. Try to let us know in your eyes what you think might be going on............:)
