With every ending comes a new beginning. Today it began for us.
I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you who has reached out their hands and hearts to my family. It means the world to me.
This afternoon I spent putzing around the apartment cleaning cages and hanging with my fids. It was really nice in the end.
Cricket started out as he has been doing flying back and forth from the patio to the living room. Calling and calling. Even mimicking Zoey as best he could.
I went to the top of Sophie's cage where he would land and he stepped right up for me. He spent about and hour on my shoulder and back of my neck as I cleaned.
When I had him step up he looked at me and cocked his head then flew off to the patio where he played contentedly the rest of the afternoon.
Sophie was still busy with her post bath preening and cup tossing so it was Zoey's turn. Scritches scritches scritches. lol She was hounding for them big time. As she does get tired of being with me after a time I put her back out on her gym to play and Sophie jumped on my shoulder.
She likes me to walk her around the apartment and just check things out. I let her down on my bed so we could play our little game. She goes and gets the bird in the reflection on the mirror for a few minutes.
Then I start reaching for her to step up. And she growls and lunges for my hand. I pull back and laugh and say stuff like "ok you're the boss" and such. Then reach in again and we do it again.
Some how I think this little game lets out some frustration some how for her. After about three or four bouts, she will lift her foot up for papa to come get her. Very sweet girl she is.
After cookie time I just was not ready to leave them alone tonight. lol
Cricket sat with me for about half an hour and we had a good talk. I really think he felt better then. We have never done this before tonight.
Then Zoey for more head scritches. I sat with Sophie, she isn't into touchy feely at all, side by side until birdy bed time.
Oh? Did I mention they are ALL molting now? lol Yep, a new day has dawned.
