When I first bought Honey, the man whom I bought her from told me that she ages 1 1/2 months. But now for some reason i have a doubt about her age..
How could I know her age ??
Can some one tell me how old does she look like?

I need to see a couple of photos of Honey. There are certain things that develop at certain times. First photo is of the front, need to see complete view of the head area. The second photo is from the back. I need to see tail feathers. 6 weeks is very, very young to be completely weaned. It's possible but it's also rare.

I think Honey is a bit older than 6 weeks (1.5 months) old. Tail is full length and that growth is complete at 6 weeks. From what I can see, the baby coloring (amber) has faded from her beak and the beak appears to be horn colored. That change is complete between ages 3 - 3.5 months of age. The first molt starts at age 4 months and I don't see any signs of that on her facial mask so I think Honey is actually between 3 - 3.5 months old.

That's really a good thing, as hand fed babies that are sold too young can revert back to wanting formula and won't eat in their new homes. The results can be devesating if the new owner doesn't realize what's happening.

It looks like Honey's facial mask is muted orange rather than muted rose. Am I seeing correctly?

Yes you are !
So as she is 3-3.5 months old, her color for sure will change right?
And up to what age will lovebirds change color??

The first molt starts at 4 months of age and you will see what appear to be darker orange "freckles" appear on Honey's brow. That will be the most obvious place. Actually, she will be getting new feathers everywhere and the net effect when all is done is that the feathering will be deeper and more intense. The second molt happens at age 1 year and the coloring will once again become more intense. It will not be as obvious as the first molt.

You can only tell age by development up until the first molt is complete. After that, it's anyone's guess! :)

Does Honey have red colored eyes? It's hard to tell because the photos are small.

Yes she does, its like maroonish. And what's that mean?

Red eyes, white flight feathers and pearly white rump feathering would mean that Honey is an Orangefaced Lutino Peachfaced lovie. Stunning mutation!

She's beautiful! And she doesn't look all fluffed up either. I am glad that she is older than 6 weeks! :)
