My honey is now learning alot. She learned few tricks, and now learning to open the cage door and some times sneaks under my cloth:whistle: and her fav place is to sleep under my hair
But since i bought her a week ago, i didnt see her bathing..
How could i get her to bath ??

It may take a while for Honey to discover the fun of taking a bath but it will happen. You can try using a spray bottle set on mist and let the mist fall on her from above. That will simulate rain from outside and she might enjoy it. Misting directly at her may not be enjoyable but falling from above does not seem to bother them as much.
Be very careful about allowing Honey to open the cage door by herself. Birds have an uncanny way of being where they don't belong and that's when accidents happen. If you are there to supervise, that's one thing. If you are not, I would put a clip on the door so that she can't get out.

Hi, we had a scare with Bea this week. I came home from work and went to their cages and Bea wasn't in hers! :omg: I started calling to her and found her on top of Pallie's cage! She loves oat groat and had gotten into that so she had eaten. She was still very hungry and thirsty but otherwise ok. We were very lucky and we're still not exactly sure how this happened  but just happy that she was ok. :)

you can offer her a dish of water. and you can play w/ the water and try to entice her w/ it. sometimes though, they just don't feel like bathing. i used to mist joey when he wouldn't take his baths, but i don't mist him anymore cuz he really hates it. if he doesn't want to bathe, oh well, i'll try later or the next day. eventually he'll take a bath :)

Mine started taking baths by themselves in their playtop's water dish....
You could try something like that. Some loveis even like taking a shower with you. I discovered my Baboo does when I went to get ready for my shower and still had her on my shoulder and once the shower was on she starting chirping really cute and fluffing up so I tried it. If you do it just be sure to not still have your birdie in their when you use your soaps and shampoos..:)

Imagine walking up to a total stranger out of the blue and spraying their hair with a water bottle. Imagine the outrage and dirty looks you'd get. That is exactly the attitude that Sam gave me when I tried misting him. He gave me the most evil sideways glare ever seen! >:
Since then I have discovered that he likes the sound of running water. Once a day I run the kitchen faucet for a minute and see if he is interested. I stick my hand under the running water and splash a little. Sometimes I let it run into a pan for extra splashy noise. He usually will come and drink, and once a week he goes under for birdie bath time. I am embarassed to admit it, but bath time is one of the highlights of the week. It never fails to crack me up. He really goes for a full body soak. Lots of flapping and fluffing. :rotfl
If your baby seems interested, you may need to experiment with this technique to find the right combo of water pressure/temp. Sam likes hard water at first to attract his attention, but once he gets close he likes it turned down to just a stream. For drinking cold seems to be okay, but he only gets under if it is slightly warm.
Not spoiled at all!
BTW - Sam used to open his seed doors and let them slam shut as a way to express the fact he wanted me for something and I was moving too slow. Usually he wanted to be uncovered at 5am! Other than being annoying, I was afraid he would hurt himself or get out. I just clipped the doors shut with wooden clothes pins.

We are using one cage right now that has the little lift up doors for food dishes. We zip tied them closed because our lovie could open them. (I think cages like this are really meant for budgies and finches who can't open the doors.) There is a much bigger door that opens on the front of the cage that we use for getting her out and changing the food and water.
We've had escapees a couple of times when we hadn't secured a door properly. Each time we found the culprits on the playgyms near the bird cages, so we were very lucky. Unsupervised lovies can get themselves into trouble because they are so curious about everything.
Thankfully our little ones headed for the playgyms where they know they have treats and a pie plate for bathing. At least when they got out they had access to both food and water. Now I've added a quick walk-by to our morning routine so I check all the doors when we've finished feeding.
These little birds are so clever!
My sisters birds were so ingenious. Gus would hold the door open for Marley to get out and then Marley would hold it up for Gus!

One day, my 7-week old Chickie was wet around and under his beaks, and for a minute, I panicked! Then I looked around the water bowl and realized there were drops of water around it. Yes, I realized he had taken his first bath. :)
That same day, I started to leave the bath bowl out and he took a very vigorous, splashy bath the next day. I suppose he watched his parents bathing and learned what to do. This bath bowl is a blue salad plate/dessert plate and the shallow depth can hold about 1.5 cups of water, or to about one-inch in depth if I really top it off.
All three birds have different styles of bathing. Petey is sedate, without too much splashing--kind of walks through the water from one side to the other with his head lowered, steps out, and walks back in again. Juanita stays in one spot (her disability, y'know) and splashes a little bit more with her wings, but baby Chickie really flaps his wings and sends up gobs of water in every direction. He splashes so much he's hopping in every direction on the plate.
Sometimes they will bathe every three-days; sometimes they will bathe back-to-back.
You could try to fill up an 8-or-9-inch cake pan and splash the water with your fingers to tempt her. Keep splashing with your fingers until she steps in and starts to splash because it's much more fun with a friend!
