View Full Version : Asking Oahu Members a question!

I was wondering if my fellow members here that live on Oahu could help me out.

Long story short, I work for a Disney-based fan site as a moderator. One of my fellow moderators hasn't logged on for the past 2 months or so, but she did tell the site owner that she would be doing things and not as readily available. Anyway, I just got a message from her boyfriend that she passed away about 2 months ago in a surfing accident on Oahu.

I realize that I may have lost a good friend here, as her boyfriend claims to tell us that she got pulled under the waves by the undertow, and slammed against some rocks. Then she was whisked away to the hospital where she died of her injuries.

I can't find anything anywhere on the net about this, and these kids I take care of on a Disney site are really impressionable. I was wondering if any of you remember hearing about this on your local news.

I believe her name was Erin and I know for a fact that she was 31 years old. Her birthdate was/is September 15th, 1977. She was a Pomona, CA resident that moved to Oahu to persue her ninja skills training/working as a stunt double on the island. I just want to make sure I can confirm the story or tell these kids the honest fact that I don't know if it is true, because I know internet deaths are faked all the time.

Thanksies in advance!

I would call the local police department for the town she alledgedly died in. They can check her in master name, or if you knew the date of the accident.... they could check that.

Most likely, a few area departments would know off the top of their heads... police are avid newspaper readers usually.

i'm not on oahu, but a quick search for any recent surfing or ocean related deaths on the honolulu advertiser revealed nothing for me....

i agree with lemony though, you could try call HPD, or perhaps try searching the obits in her hometown of pomona?

I did a search as well and found nothing. Those incidents are always on the news so the advertiser would have had it. You may wnat to contact an actual news station and talk with them to see if they can help you.

I googled it and not nothing. Hopefully there isn't anything more to the story that is missing here. I hope you find out what happened, it truly is a tragedy to 1. have her be missing and 2. not really know what has happened.

Thanks, guys. I tried googling myself and I can't find anything either.

I'm going to call the local police departments to see if they know anything. Stuff like that would have to be public notice, even if they don't give her actual name out.
