I haven't been on the board much because I've been under the weather, and I've been spending weekends with family. Freyja and Odinn LOVE it at my grandparents. My Granny loves the 'grandbirds' and always invites them. She also allows them to make a mess and take over the house, so they like her. Sometimes when I'm feeling particularly lousy Freyja will spend time snuggled and/or preening me, but today both birds spent most of the day on me. The room we're staying in is big and open and has many (safe) plants... not to mention wealth in curtains (which they think belong to them) and though they spent some time playing in the plants, curtains, and shredding/hole punching my airport directions, they spent the majority of the day snuggling on/with and preening me as well as trying to take my "jungle" sweatshirt apart. Maybe its because of the change in scenery or because of all the semi-familiar people around, but when we are at home lately neither bird wants anything to do with me most days... and when we are traveling they can't get enough of me! I was feeling crappy all day but any day I get to spend bonding time with the fids feels like a very fine day to me!

We got some excellent shots of Freyja and Odinn engaged in a synchronized preening of my ears! I will post them when I get home and get them loaded. :rotfl

I leave for my trip in under 2 weeks, and will be away for them for 13 days. I will miss them so much! When I get back, Bennu comes home 2 days later. I may go visit Bennu tomorrow, depending on how I'm feeling. Maybe I will have more photos of him too when I get back!

How nice to hear your Granny really likes her little "grandfids". She sounds very much like a wonderful person who is both loving and supportive. So much so, she even lets the make messes too!........

Lately, everyone here has been going through some sort of illness. Seems there's no avoiding it unless you carry around your portable bubble or zute suit.

Hope soon you'll be feeling like your old self again, especially with the upcoming trip. Take care...and get plenty of rest..........:)

Loving grandfidparents are the best !!!! :D my grandma loves my flock too, and they love her. Our fids are really part of our family. :)

Unfortunately, my illness is a chronic condition, which I hope is less severe during my trip. Despite having a compromised immune system, my healthy diet and lifestyle keeps me from suffering many communicable diseases. A cold or flu for me can be a major event, so I am very grateful that I contract them infrequently!

Both Odinn and Freyja just spent the morning on my grandmother's shoulder. Its the first time that Odinn has spent time on the person of anyone except Chris and I!

I'm sorry you still aren't feeling well.....I sure hope that you feel better for your trip! the snow is finally outa here! and warmer weather and sunshine are here! and after all this time of not feeling well, you really need to be able to get out and enjoy it! At least you don't get the flu! I don't usually get it either! You take care and feel better soon!

i'm so sorry that you have been ill. I'm glad that the stays at your grandmother's helps. I too have a chronic condition, and very often traveling, a change of scenery helps alot. It gives me something to look forward to, and getting away from all the stresses of daily life puts a smile on my face and a hop in my step. I'm sure your trip will give you the boost you need to face daily challenges.

And there is nothing like a lovie or two to make you feel better. :) :)
