Hello All:
I have a small ? to ask. Why do my birds sit facing the opposite direction (not looking towards us)? (back towards us) We have them now almost 2 months.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Is their cage in front of a window? If not, what do they see when they sit in the direction that is opposite to where you are? It would be my guess that they must feel fairly safe or they would want to see what's behind them (you).

I have Oliver near a window and he for the most part will watch outside and watch the birdies doing their things outside all day. Your bird just may be comfortable where he is at or just still getting used to his surroundings.

They sit facing the wall. The cage is positioned towards us but they choose to look at the wall.

I think they're doing it to tease you. It's similar to what cats and dogs do when they stare intently at nothing. We don't know the exact conversation that leads up to it, but top bird brains estimate that it goes like this:
"Whatcha wanna do now?"
"I think it's time to tease Her again."
"Really? So soon?"
"Oh yeah. Keeps her on her toes, and we get extra attention for it!"
JK of course. :) But if they continue to stare at a blank wall, you may draw your own conclusions. Or you could put something up there like the table of Elements and see if they might learn something useful! Then you could make a video of them staring at it, send it to that Funniest Animals program, and get a free tee shirt. :D
