Does anyone know what the red spots on that lutino lovie in all those articles were?

I know what you are talking about because I literally was reading that issue when I was sunbathing a few hours ago!! = ) I think the red spots are just other points of color on the bird, but I cant be positive. I thought that too, but I dont think its anything other than coloring. My Oliver has a yellow spot on the top of his head - how random considering hes a parrotlet and usually greens are ALL green except for their eyeshadow and wing tips!!

I think that is red suffusion which is from poor diet.

Anyone else know what we are talking about?

Suffusion (red or orange) isn't always from poor diet. Diet is one of the possibilities, as is liver function. And even those aren't hard and fast rules for suffusion.
