Ignoring the eggs

Elmo has laid two eggs, with the second egg looking quite difficult. It was covered in blood. By what she has been doing for the week, I expected to see another egg today

But we don't really have an egg bum. And she isnt bothering to sit on the eggs. I can touch them and she doesn't care. Has she already abandoned them?

I wonder because the second one was difficult that maybe she has done the australian thing.."its too hard.. i give up" and has stopped laying?

Is blood normal when they lay? Hope she's doing fine.

I called the vets and they said it was. But it just freaked me out and I felt like crying when I saw her lay it. Shes perfectly fine now. After that one came out she felt sorry for herself for about 15 minutes and my normal elmo returned.

Its as if the eggs don't exist to her now.

OMG elmo would play rugby with the eggs too if i let her! I put it in her nest box. But she plays rugby with another toy IN the nest box...

Elmo isnt phased by her cozy hut. She loves to sleep in it. But throughout the day she ignores it completely. And I agree with Gabby... a grey/green cozy.. please.. that's so last year's fashion. hahahhaa.

momo - I am glad Elmo is ok after her ordeal. Us women sure get the short end of the stick sometimes.... lol

Oh I know lemonypickett.. i think elmo has revolted against her womanness.. refusing to take care of the eggs. she wants to be freeeee

because she's laid them and has completely ignored them. Hasn't laid another one in five days. She prefers to fly around play with her toys and destroy mummy's jacket!

How is Elmo and the eggs doing??? Thats probably good that shes not being overprotective of the eggs - at least your hands arent getting attacked!! Maybe shes just thinking "phew - thank God thats over!!" LOL
