Okay, I like Rudy.
You can even play the "Rudy" movie for him, and the bird will feel important like his name is being called....

I like Chip... Pip & Chip!
I went with a theme for my guys. "Flap"
Then when they have babies, (:omg:, just kidding), they can be Flip, Skip, and What-a-Trip.

I, too, like Chip. Pip & Chip have a nice ring. And I tend to like names that I can repeat easily,
Hey, Chip, Chip, Chip, Chip, Chip!

I kinda like Rudy too.....I found that name on an add for a dog and I just liked it! Unfortunately, boyfriend doesn't like Rudy, we're leaning towards Chip, but I'd still like to hear more opinions from others! I love your guys ideas and reasons why you like the names you do! We have the best group of input givers here! :D

Chip is my favorite :). It sounds more like a birdy name and reminds me of a cookie for some reason..? lol

Hey come on Barb!! LOL - I LOVE the name Rudy!!! I like 2 syllable names though, so thats JMO!! I think it is adorable, a forever baby fid name = )
For some reason the name Rudy reminds me of Dexter the TV Show.
To me, I love the Punky-Chip. Something about those two words hyphenated together.

I like Punky!
The only help Chris ever gave me in naming the birds was saying "No" to all of them. One thing that he always honed right in on was "that character died, its bad luck!" when I chose a movie or literary or television character... I had to point out that we're ALL mortal and such is how all our stories end, but he didn't go for it. So, I suppose under that standard Rudy would be ruled out. One example was, we were thinking of naming Odinn and Freyja, Cloud and Aeris. He said no to that, because Aeris dies... and I just didn't think Tifa was a good fit.
As for Chip and Pip... at first thought that sounds neat, but I'd be concerned that they'll be confused when you call out for them!
But seriously, I just like Punky.

I vote for Rudy, but, with a modification to "DeeDee." It's still Rudy, but I think it will be easier for the fids to say. For example, our guys cannot say "Juanita," but they can say "PetePete," which is our other name for Petey. They also say "Petey" but I've not hear a recognizable "Juanita" yet.
I know, there's always one who can't stay within the lines. You gave me three choices and I come back with a fourth. Tsk, tsk. It's tough to pick names.
They also had no trouble saying the name of their chick, whom we named "Chickopea." In fact, this is a name they say ALL the time, many times during the day. I don't know if it's a random sound to them, or it has a meaning that they comprehend, but it sounds so cute when they say it, speeded up.

Fuzzy- I think some sounds are easier for them to say than others.

Encko Chan, that is true. For this reason, I offered up a name that has two syllables, and was reduced to the simplest consonant and vowel sounds, "DeeDee."
If I had been aware of this capability (or lack of it) I would probably have reduced Juanita's name to "Tata." For me, although it's cute to hear them speak their name, it's not important enough to bother. I could probably start today with the "Tata" but..., eh, too lazy. :)

Rudy!!! LOL Ok Im done I promise.
No voting twice!! :rotfl Momo, you never really picked one on your post, and seriously I am counting up the votes here and so far Rudy is the winner. Now, my boyfriend doesn't care much for Rudy, but it's taken us so long now that he's willing to bend! SOoooo, I've decided to go with whatever name gets the most votes. Chip and Rudy are very close, but Rudy is the winner so far. Any more votes here??? and Momo.....can you chose one? I myself like the name Rudy.....it's a bit different, I've not heard of a bird named Rudy before! I just like the name! So get your votes in if you haven't voted on a name! I want to chose by Friday! Thanx! and thank you to all who helped me out! You guys are the best! We'd have a poor nameless bird here for months without you all!

I like Punky -- I think that it's good for a girl or a boy.
And Rudy is super cute, too... and goes both ways. Anyone remember The Cosby Show?
