I think I spelt Fischer right, maybe not. I was wondering though...do fischer lovebirds act the same as peachface? This may be a stupid question but since they look so different then peachfaces, I was wondering if their personalities are the same or not....anyone know?

In many ways they are quite different to peachfaced, yet in many other ways they are identical. In general, they all act the same yeah. There's differences in nesting instincts etc.
From my experience, of visiting many breeders and shows, I think peachfaced are often louder than other species like fischers, but that can also vary from flock to flock. I personally think fischers are a bit more chilled out than peachfaced, but again that can vary.
Some people say peachfaced are the most friendly of the species, but I say a bird is what you make it. I've seen silly tame peachfaced, and silly tame eyering species, including loads of tame fischers.

I see, Thank you for the infomation. I'm still looking on what color, and kind of lovebird to look for. I do have Junior who is a original green peachface and I don't want another one in the same color so, I was thinking towards a fishers lovebird. Again, thanks! :)

I am not starting debate just sayin that if you get junior an eye ring partner and its of the opposite sex any offspring of thiers will be infertile so its much easier to control baby wise, just sayin, either way all lovebirds rock!

It's Fischer's lovebird -- named for the explorer who discovered them :)
From what I understand, eye-ring lovebirds (masked, Fischer's, black-cheeked and Nyasa) are often thought to be a bit more timid than the average peach-faced lovebird. That's not a hard and fast rule, though.
To me, masked & Fischer's have a slightly more high-pitched and shrill sound to their chirp.
Fischer's come in a variety of mutations (colors). The dilute (aka yellow or lime Fischer's) is quite popular. Sometimes you'll come across a blue Fischer's. I'm rather fond of the normal, wild-type Fischer's :D
If you're looking for a pet-quality lovebird, I think that a well-socialized hand-fed is your best bet, regardless of the species.
