Okay, question here.

I don't know what the scientific term is for what I am looking for, but I think I am looking for a creamino bird (creamy yellow color) with no orange brow/face and the bluish/purple rump.

What is that breed called so that I can properly look for one? Is it creamino?

Thanks in advance for helping someone that got a 97 in biology and doesn't know the proper genus names of lovebirds. LOL.

That sounds like an Australian Cinnamon.

If you search the older posts from lemmonypicket you will find some cute pictures of her Eddie. He is a good example of Australian Cinnamon.

They also have pictures of them on the ALBS website in the photo library.

I've seen pics of Eddie, that's almost what I am looking for...but he seems to have a greenish-cast to him. Do the Australian Cinnamons come in different shades as well?

The bird I am thinking of kinda looks like Eddie and Bookworm's Evolet.

It's hard to get a good photo that shows what color birds really are. The camera doesn't see things the same way as the human eye does.

Yes, the color of yellow can vary depending upon other genetic factors such as dark factor. Also, in most pics of Eddie he doesn't appear greenish.

Someone else like Linda can probably be more specific.

Sometimes it's difficult to know what you have unless you know the genetics of the parents because some splits are difficult to see in the yellow birds--like pied for instance.

Thanks, Linda! You've at least given me a place to start!!

The characteristics of a Creamino are pink/red eyes and pearly white rump feathering, sometimes with a light wash of blue over the white. If this lovie has coloring on the rump, it's not a Creamino.

Lack of brow coloring means the lovie is a blue series Orangeface. It appears as yellow so I've also seen them referred to as Yellowface. If the flight feathers are white, the eyes are dark and there's coloring to the rump area, my best guess, without a photo, would be Splitcinnamonino (U.S. terminologyh). If the lovie has violet rump feathering, it's a violet on top of that and the violet factor lightens the body coloring.

Sounds like you're looking for a pallid, like my Wrigley. He's an Australian Cinnamon with a violet factor.

He is yellow with a bright violet rump. I call him my little Easter Egg...

Splitcinnamonino!! That's exactly what I think I am looking for, with the whiteface mutation.

I saw this type of bird at my vet's office and totally fell in love with it.

My husband doesn't like the coloring on them, but I do. Tee hee.
