Junior got his nails clipped today and his wings also. He is being such a sweet bird! He really did get an attitude adjustment. He gets lonely because I haven't been home much lately but that's why he's getting a friend..hopefully I get to see the babies soon! Anyways, Junior doesn't bite me anymore, he makes cute little noises and he's talking alot now.
Everyone was right...the wing clip worked wonders! Thanks for all the advice everyone!:)

exactly the same thing happens with sunnybird. Before a clip she gets soooo zoomy and sassy. After a clip she's a snuggle bird and wants skritches and more skritches. silly fids!

Ha ha! Another convert! Clipped birds are so much more fun. ;) The clips always seem to cause an immediate attitude adjustment.

Wing clips definitely work wonders = )
i'm very tempted to try it on Pearl as she is all over the place sometimes, and i love the idea of her becoming really snuggley... but i'm not sure yet as she is still fairly cuddly without it (except with the odd mauling here and there!)
I have to ask this (though unrelated to wing clipping) - If you are doing something in the house and your bird is out, does anyone else's bird just HAVE to be involved in what you are doing?! i mean, getting right in there and chewing whatever it is you are doing? because that is Pearl. She needs to be informed whenever we start to do anything at all in the house (opening post is her favourite). It makes us laugh, she's so cute!

The list would be shorter if you asked if anyone has a bird who DOESN'T have to be involved in EVERYTHING they are doing! :rotfl It's part of being a lovie...total involment

I'm so glad that you are starting to see that your biting little lovie won't always be so bad!! I know there are alot of bird people out there who are against clipping, but truthfully, it really is a different situation for each and every bird, and only YOU can know what's the right thing to do for your bird. Wing clips also help keep them safer. I've found with Pip that a wing clip is really needed to slow him down a little, he's just WAY too hyper and all over the place. I always let wings grow out until problems start....then he gets a clip! Maybe someday he'll calm down as he grows older, but for now he remains clipped and he sure doesn't seem to care a bit! I make sure he still has enough flight so he won't crash into things and can still get places, just so he isn't up on the curtains! My other birds all have full flight, but they are just better behaved birds than lovies are.....not so mischievous and hyper! and of course a wing clip always helps when you first get a bird so he can get used to you and not always flying away and have to deal with catching them....I think it's much less stressful for a new bird to be clipped than to have to chase them around and scare them.
