Not so nice anymore.... =/

Junior is back to his mean old self....minus the flying. Junior bites like crazy and while I'm holding him on my finger, he attacks it. Also, I let Junior out to play on my bed and I put some toys next to Junior too. While I'm sitting there with Junior, He bites me! I'm not even doing anything to disturb him and he bites!




My oh my...I can only pray for a nicer lovebird. :omg:

Awww I think maybe Junior might just be going through his teenage years in bird time. Hopefully he will come around and stop biting his mommy!

maybe he's just having a bad day. he's probably frustrated about something and taking it out on his mommy

My young boys play hard but as they get older they learn not to hurt the things that bring them food and goodies lol

He ruffles his feathers and bites me really hard...while I was giving him millet! That's his favorite treat. A few days ago, I was doing my homework and he came over then took my pencil and was throwing it in the air everywhere. It was like HULK..but in a bird version! He also gets this look in his eyes that says "get away from me or I will bite you so hard you will bleed". He hasn't drawn blood yet but it is getting there. He bit me so hard right between my 2 veins on my hand..he BARELY missed it. If he bit them, that wouldn't have been a pretty sight.

Birds have good days and they have bad days, just like humans. Learn the body language and protect your fingers/body parts. Many birds like to have their beaks rubbed and I've found a good way to defuse a potential bite is to put your thumb and index fingers on either side of the upper beak and gently rub it. Watch Junior's beak while you are doing it so that you avoid any bite.
