Day 11 of Round 2 of QT. I came in to give Johari her meds, food, change water etc. I had the cage open while I was filling the syringes & she came right out, onto the top of her cage. I let her stay there a bit, and as soon as I started talking to her, she ran to the front of the cage and looked at me. I pulled my hand inside my sleeve & offered her my arm. She climbed right on :happy::happy:. Soon she was perched on my shoulder, preening my hair & cheek...and ear :omg: She went back and forth between shoulders, via my back, and hung out for a half hour! Then she decided to go explore my desk & I decided I needed to get her meds into her. So I retrieved her & gave her the syringes. She didn't struggle or try to resist the syringe. Even nibbled the end of the second one a bit. When I released her, she just waddled up my shirt to my shoulder, & hopped back to her cage. After just a couple of minutes she was back at the open door, so I again offered my arm & she hopped right on :happy::happy: She climbed to my shoulder, then went across my back, and is now sitting on my left shoulder...Buddy's favorite perch! She just chirpped :) She is sooooo little. And gentle, compared to Gussie. We ARE going to be friends

She's still on my shoulder, eating an avi cake that i am holding while typing one handed. One thing I already love about her is her walk. Or waddle  The vet calls her "Little Cowboy". It really is cute, & doesn't seem to slow her down at all. And she climbs like a champ! Loves her swing that is a circle of coiled squishy stuff with mineral stars and shells. She chews on the stars which is good for her calcium intake. I've tried several different kinds of pellets but she only likes Kaytee Exact. What she was weaned onto. At least I've got her off of the colored/fruity ones. And she does eat avicakes and nutriberries. And egg food. And I've been dusting her food with Harrison's Mash, so hopefully someday & can get her to accept the Harrison's. No fresh food yet. Hopefully that will change when she sees Gussie chowing down on whatever I'm eating. That will happen this weekend. I hope...after the Vet visit. But I expect that to go well as she is perky, vocal, and active. And STILL on my shoulder

Okay, I think this is another good sign. She is still on my shoulder but is now preening herself  She is soooo little I'm going to have to be careful or I might forget she's there! She's "light as a feather"

Oh! Oh! Oh! I hear beak grinding  It's very quiet, but definately beak grinding...while on my shoulder  This is the first time I've heard Johari grind her beak since she got here! Things are looking up

Well, she finally went back to her cage, where she's now having a little lunch. I turned my shoulder to the open door several times in case she wanted to go home. The first time I did that she actually turned her back on the cage. She wanted to stay with me :) But I'm glad she decided she 's hungry 'cause I was going to have to put her back. There are some other things (other than hanging with the birds) that I need to do! But she stayed with me for over 2 hours! Good girl, JoJo

You are now under Johari's complete control. .... Like putty in her hands...I mean feet. ... A victim of love. ... A real sucker for small parrots. .. Good work Johari!..........:)

Awww!

The QT turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it gave you time alone with Johari to cement your relationship.

There is no sweeter moment than when a lovie expresses to you her/his complete trust.

I'm so glad for you. :)

Need I say more...The patch of blue on the right is my shoulder and the hair on the left is my hair. I didn't put the patch of green between my hair and my shoulder. The patch of green put herself there :happy::happy:
